  • Tavily: 2026-10-31 credits docs (also checked in the tavily-alternatives and tavily-vs-exa fact-checks): basic, fast and ultra-fast searches cost 1 credit, advanced 2; automatic depth selection can choose advanced. Pay-as-you-go is $0.008 per credit ($8 per 1K basic searches), and the docs apply that PAYG rate once a plan's credit limit is reached. Plans: Project $30 (4,000 credits), Bootstrap $100 (15,000), Startup $220 (38,000), Growth $500 (100,000, $0.005 per credit); Enterprise is custom. Keyless Search/Extract over REST and MCP is documented separately with numeric caps unpublished: https://docs.tavily.com/documentation/keyless . No account, invoice or keyless request was made.
  • Exa: 2026-10-31 pricing, changelog and billing docs (also checked in the tavily-alternatives and tavily-vs-exa fact-checks): the Lite search type ($4/1K, cache-only, fewer parameters, no AI summaries) was added on 19 Oct 2026; Instant ($4) and Fast ($7) are now legacy types at unchanged prices. Auto is $7/1K, Deep-lite/Deep $12, legacy Deep-reasoning $15. The first 10 results include text/highlights; additional results cost $1/1K and AI summaries $1/1K pages. Standalone Contents costs $1/1K pages per content type; Answer costs $5/1K. Only a user's first team gets the $10 monthly grant (resets on the 1st, no carryover) and the one-time $10 onboarding bonus (does not expire). No API usage was executed.
  • Brave Search API: 2026-10-31 public pricing (also checked in the free-web-search-api and tavily-alternatives fact-checks): Search $5/1K, up to 50 QPS, with $5 in monthly credits and a card required 'to prevent abuse'. Answers is priced separately with token charges and its own $5 monthly credit (16 Oct reading: $4/1K plus $5 per million tokens, 2 QPS). The same page's banner says 'Up to $20 in free calls every month', which it does not reconcile with the $5 per-plan credit; this row uses $5. Brave's announcement asks for attribution to get the credit, while its API terms make attribution optional. Terms permit transient storage only unless an agreement grants more, and restrict using results to train or evaluate AI models. No account entitlement or API behavior checked.
  • Perplexity API: 2026-10-31 public pricing (also checked in the free-web-search-api and tavily-alternatives fact-checks): Search $5/1K successful requests or Fast $1, with 'no additional token-based charges'. One successful Search request may contain up to five queries; successful empty results are billed; invalid, rate-limited and upstream-failure requests are not. Agent API web_search is $2.50/1K standard or $1 Fast, plus model tokens (16 Oct reading: fetch_url $0.50/1K). The migration guide says Sonar support ended 27 Sep 2026; synchronous/streaming calls are gradually reformulated into Agent requests and asynchronous Sonar must move to background mode. No free allowance is listed. Documentation only; no account/API checks.
  • Linkup: 2026-10-31 pricing docs (also checked in the free-web-search-api and tavily-alternatives fact-checks): flash/fast/standard searchResults $0.005 per request; sourcedAnswer/structured $0.006. Deep searchResults $0.05, answer/structured $0.055. Basic fetch $0.001 (16 Oct reading of the other fetch tiers: standard with JS or pro without JS $0.005, pro with JS $0.01; schema adds $0.001). Requests paid via x402 have a separate $0.01 minimum. Errors and no-relevant-result calls are not deducted. Entry $5/1K is searchResults, not an answer or Deep rate. Account eligibility was not checked.
  • Parallel: 2026-10-31 pricing (also checked in the free-web-search-api and tavily-alternatives fact-checks): Search costs $1 per 1K on Turbo and Fast and $5 per 1K on Basic and Advanced, 10 results per request (16 Oct reading: extra results $1 per 1K). Extract costs $1 per 1K. Up to 600 requests a minute. Parallel's own free-search article says a card is needed only for the $5 monthly credit and describes it as 'enough for up to 5,000 Turbo or Fast searches', so the 5K requests and $5 credit may be one allowance described two ways. The Search MCP allows anonymous keyless use in fast mode without a published cap. No account check.
  • You.com APIs: 2026-10-31 public prices (also checked in the free-web-search-api and tavily-alternatives fact-checks): Web Search $5/1K calls; Contents $1/1K pages; live full-page retrieval adds $1/1K pages to Search. The free MCP profile (?profile=free) needs no account or key. The pricing page showed '$10 free credit = 2,000 searches' on 31 Oct; 16 Oct captures had differed ($10 versus $100); whether it is one-time, and its card rules, are unstated, so it is not subtracted from paid examples. 16 Oct reading: Answer $5/1K; Research Lite $12/1K, Standard $50, Deep $100, Exhaustive $450, Frontier $1,200 (different product modes). No live billing or entitlement check.
  • Valyu: 2026-10-31 pricing docs (also checked in the tavily-alternatives fact-check): retrievals are billed in credits per 1,000 results: web/news 100, arXiv/PubMed/bioRxiv/medRxiv 50, clinical trials 800, stock prices 960, patents 1,280, SEC filings 1,920, Wiley publications 4,800. Pay-as-you-go: $10 buys 1,600 credits, $10 minimum top-up, top-ups last 12 months; at that rate 1,000 web results cost about $0.63 before plan bonuses. Monthly plans: $29 (5,000 credits), $99 (18,000), $499 (100,000); these replace the $29/$89/$449 plans recorded on 16 Oct. The Search reference does not state the unit of max_price. One query is not automatically one retrieval, so per-query normalization is withheld. No account or invoice check.
  • Desearch: Public pricing checked on 2026-10-16 labels its figures as reference rates dated 7 May 2026: Web Search $1/1K searches, AI Search $0.40/1K items and Extract $0.50/1K pages. It directs readers to Console for current rates. No current numeric tariff is asserted in the price columns; the historical reference amounts are not a current account or invoice quote.
  • WebSearchAPI.ai: 2026-10-16 public pricing: Pro $189/month includes 50K search credits; Expert $1,250/month includes 500K. Credit use varies by retrieval depth and processing, so no fixed per-query normalized price is asserted.
  • S1 (formerly Search1API): 2026-10-16 pricing: top-ups from $5; base $1 buys 1,000 credits, which never expire. Basic /search costs 1 credit, Deep search 1 plus one for each successfully crawled page. Monthly plans: $19/25K, $99/150K, $499/1M credits. Deposit bonuses and subscriptions differ from the $1/1K basic PAYG rate.
  • Kagi Search API: Extract costs $4 per 1K.
  • Mojeek API: 2026-10-31 API page (also checked in the free-web-search-api fact-check): priced in pounds, Startup £2 and Business £3 per 1,000 requests; not converted to USD. The FAQ says you can 'sign up to our Startup Plan and claim a free credit' without giving an amount; this is a signup credit, not a recurring free tier. Startup may cache results for one hour; longer storage needs Business or Enterprise.
  • SerpApi: 2026-10-31 pricing and legal pages (also checked in the serper-vs-serpapi, serpapi-alternatives and cheapest-serp-api fact-checks): the embedded pricing data contains 61 paid Best Effort plans. Selected monthly allowances are Starter $25/1K, Developer $75/5K, Production $150/15K, Big Data $275/30K, Searcher $725/100K, Volume $1,475/250K, Infrastructure $2,750/500K and Cloud 1M $3,750/1M. The catalog continues through Cloud 54M at $106,050 for 54M searches: $1.9639 per 1K at full use, rounded to $1.96 in the top-tier field. Free is 250 searches/month at up to 50 an hour. Optional speed upgrades and additional AI Overview retrievals cost extra. Legal Shield starts at Production with scoped U.S.-law, U.S.-court collection/parsing cover; downstream use is excluded. The contractual 99.95% SLA is not measured uptime. Successful empty responses count; cached/error/failed searches do not. No checkout, account entitlement or actual API billing was checked.
  • apiserpent.com (SerpentAPI): 2026-11-03 pricing/docs/FAQ/terms (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api, serpapi-alternatives, serper-vs-serpapi, tavily-alternatives, tavily-vs-exa and free-web-search-api fact-checks): New-credit Web rates are Default $0.60/1K with no deposit; Growth $0.30 after one qualifying $100 deposit; Scale $0.10 after $500; Enterprise $0.05 after a $1,000 single deposit; Enterprise Plus $0.03 after a $1,250 single deposit. Each deposit is priced by its size, and the best deposit in a calendar month sets the price for that month's deposits. The same rate applies across Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo and Brave. Purchased credit never expires, so these rates carry no expiry penalty, and existing credit keeps its old schedule; refunded/charged-back deposits do not qualify. Pricing-change history: on 31 Oct 2026 the pricing page carried the banner 'Prices to increase 10x after October 31' with no new rates; on 3 Nov 2026 the banner was gone, the lower tiers were unchanged and Enterprise had moved from $0.03 to $0.05, with $0.03 now on the new Enterprise Plus tier. The effective date was not stated, and the terms (last updated 31 Oct 2026) allow pricing changes with 30 days' notice. Recheck the live page before depositing. The 12-month entry-rate cash rule selects Default/Scale/Enterprise Plus at 1K/100K/1M; deposits are spendable balance, not fees. Quick bills one Web unit per call for up to 100 organic results (best-effort); Deep bills one per requested page, up to 10. AI Overview fields are an opt-in option on eligible paid Deep calls with no separate fee listed. Optional AI Mode adds $0.004 per call plus requested-page units; an empty answer refunds only the surcharge, and its docs do not establish collection of the Google AI Mode UI. The minimum first deposit is $10; after lifetime deposits reach $50, later top-ups have a $100 minimum. The pricing page and FAQ give a daily allowance of at least 10K requests per account, or 100K after $500 of verified net deposits; their rate-limit table lists 300K/day for live balances of $1,000 or more. No account cap or throughput was tested. Ten free calls are shared across eligible endpoints and expire after 12 months of account inactivity; promotional bonuses expire after 30 days. No public PAYG SLA; the customer indemnifies the vendor under Indian-law terms.
  • Serper: 2026-10-31 homepage and terms (also checked in the serper-vs-serpapi, cheapest-serp-api and serpapi-alternatives fact-checks): prepaid packs of $50/50K, $375/500K, $1,250/2.5M and $3,750/12.5M, 'Credits valid for 6 months', 50–300 queries per second by pack, and 2,500 free queries with no card. The FAQ says credits are deducted for successful responses. Effective totals count credits usable before expiry under the dataset cash rule. A deeper-results multiplier and AI Overview support were not confirmed in primary documentation. Terms (updated 29 May 2024) give a mutual indemnity, an 'as is' service and no SLA; Serper runs a public status page at https://serper.betteruptime.com/ , which reports incidents rather than promising uptime. No API billing test.
  • SearchApi: 2026-10-31 pricing and terms (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api, serpapi-alternatives and serper-vs-serpapi fact-checks): monthly plans are Developer $40/10K, Production $100/35K, BigData $250/100K, Scale $500/250K, Octo 500K $900/500K, Octo 1M $1,500/1M, Octo 2M $2,800/2M and Octo 5M $5,000/5M. All listed plans advertise a 99.9% SLA and up to 20% of plan credits per hour; these are not measured results. Signup gives 100 free requests with no card. Legal terms describe up-to-$2M aggregate coverage per 12-month period for active Production+ customers, with notice/cooperation requirements and exclusions for customer use, storage, resale, systems and unlawful activity. Refund within 10 days if 25% or less is used. Only successful 200 searches are billed. No account entitlement or contract outcome was checked.
  • DataForSEO SERP API: 2026-10-31 pricing, minimum-payment and payments help pages (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api, serpapi-alternatives and tavily-alternatives fact-checks): the Standard queue costs $0.60/1K 10-result SERPs ($0.0006 each), with about 5 minutes average turnaround and a 45-minute target; it is not live. Requested depth is billed per additional 10-result page; search operators and other options add charges (16 Oct reading: operators such as site: multiply the price by 5). Priority and Live are separate rows. $50 minimum payment, $1 trial credit and non-expiring deposited funds. Terms §7.2 indemnity concerns violation of §7.1. No latency/billing test.
  • Bright Data SERP API: 2026-10-31 pricing (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api, serpapi-alternatives and tavily-alternatives fact-checks): PAYG $1.50/1K successful requests; Scale is $499/month for 380K requests plus $1.30/1K additional; Enterprise is custom. The free tier is '5K records per month', no card. At 1M, Scale costs $499 + 620 × $1.30 = $1,305, or $1.31/1K rounded. The slider showed no larger steps on 31 Oct; on 16 Oct it also listed $999/900K + $1.10/1K and $1,999/2M + $1/1K, which would make 1M $1,109 ($1.11/1K), but those stops could not be re-confirmed, so a larger step offered to your account could cost less. Paid totals are gross of the free allowance because free/paid stacking is unverified. Default successful-only billing changes to all-attempt billing with custom headers or cookies: https://docs.brightdata.com/products/serp-api/pricing-and-billing . • Oxylabs Web Scraper API (SERP): 2026-10-31 Web API /Search pricing (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api fact-check): plans are Starter $30/30K, Basic $100/100K and Flexible $500/500K, each $1/1K at full allowance; Enterprise starts from $2,500/month for 2.5M+. The $5 welcome credit applies 'toward any product'; the card's 'up to 5.6K searches' is not assumed to be guaranteed. The exact 1M total/top-up entitlement is withheld. Do not substitute the separate /Scrape target tariff.
  • Decodo Web Scraping API (SERP): 2026-10-31 Web Data API billing table (also cited in the cheapest-serp-api and serpapi-alternatives fact-checks): Search has one per-request rate by monthly plan: $19 = $0.75/1K, $49 = $0.65, $99 = $0.60, $249 = $0.55, $499 = $0.50, $999 = $0.45, $1,499 = $0.40; Search is listed separately from scraping and proxy/rendering modes. 16 Oct reading: the marketing free-plan page and 12 Oct launch blog say up to 10K monthly standard pages, which is not 10K guaranteed searches at every configuration. No normalized volume totals are asserted until allowance/top-up details are matched. Only documented public pricing, not a purchased account.
  • Scrapingdog: 2026-10-31 pricing and terms (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api, serpapi-alternatives and serper-vs-serpapi fact-checks): a Google SERP Light request costs 5 credits; Advance and AI Mode cost 10. Lite is $40 (200K credits, 40K Light calls), Standard $90 (1M), Pro $200 (3M), Premium $350 (6M, 1.2M Light calls); the top listed tier, Nova Pro, is $30,000/mo for 1.1B credits ($0.14/1K Light calls at full use). Every account starts with 100 free credits, no card (200 on 2026-09-25). The page says failed requests are never charged; its terms rule out refunds.
  • Zenserp: 2026-10-31 pricing (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api fact-check): monthly plans are Small $49.99/25K, Medium $149.99/100K, Large $299.99/250K, Premium $499.99/500K and Enterprise $899/1M searches; Free is 50 searches/month. The 20% annual discount is separate (16 Oct reading: the SLA starts from Medium). No API/account checks.
  • Traject Data ValueSERP: 2026-10-31 pricing (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api and serpapi-alternatives fact-checks): PAYG is $2.50/1K from a $25 initial purchase (10K requests); 100 signup searches are free, no card required. Displayed subscriptions are marked 'Billed Annually': $50/month equivalent for 25K monthly searches through $10,000/month equivalent for 20M. The $158/100K and $1,000/1M monthly equivalents require 12-month purchases; $0.50/1K is the highest displayed annual tier's full-use nominal rate. A Monthly/Annual toggle shows '-10%', but month-to-month prices are not stated and PAYG expiry is unverified, so all normalized monthly-volume cells are withheld. 16 Oct reading: only successful Search API calls count. No purchased account or invoice check.
  • serpstack: 2026-10-31 pricing (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api fact-check): monthly plans are Basic $29.99/5K, Business $99.99/20K and Business Pro $199.99/50K searches, with overage of $0.023992, $0.019998 and $0.0159992 per search. Business Pro plus overage gives $199.99 + 50,000 × $0.0159992 = $999.95 at 100K (about $10/1K) and $15,399.23 at 1M ($15.40/1K). Annual equivalents of $26.99/$87.99/$169.99 are separate. The free 100 searches/month are for non-commercial use. No prediction about a cheaper custom quote; no executed billing.
  • SerpHouse: 2026-10-31 pricing (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api fact-check): Basic is $29.99/400K credits and Regular is $49.99/800K. Ordinary SERPs are advertised at $0.75/1K on Basic or $0.62 on Regular; top 100 Google results cost $7.50 on Basic/$6.25 on Regular. The largest public plan covers about 80K ordinary searches, so 100K/1M totals are withheld; that is not a claim that higher volume is unavailable. The Free plan (4,000 credits) is a one-month renewing trial for work email or 7 days without renewal for personal email; no account was checked.
  • Serply: 2026-10-31 pricing (checked in the cheapest-serp-api fact-check): $5 buys 2,500 credits; $15 buys 10,000 ($1.50 per 1K); $0.75 per 1K from the $375 pack (500,000). Purchased credits never expire; the 2,500 free credits are valid 30 days. 16 Oct reading: cached results are free.
  • HasData: 2026-10-31 prices page (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api fact-check): it shows Startup $49/200K credits, Basic $99/1M and Growth $208/3M under a 'Billed annually' toggle with '2 months free', without separate annual prices and without saying which billing period those figures use. The month-to-month prices recorded on 16 Oct (Startup $59, Basic $119, Growth $249, plus $415/5M, $830/10M and $1,660/20M tiers, with $49/$99/$208 read then as monthly equivalents of annual purchases) were not visible on 31 Oct. Both readings are kept here, and the entry price, per-1K and cash-to-start cells are withheld until the billing period is confirmed. Full Google SERP costs 10 credits per request: https://docs.hasdata.com/apis/google-serp/serp.md . No account or invoice check.
  • Google Custom Search JSON API: Capped at 10,000 queries a day. Closed to new customers; existing customers must move off by 2027-01-01.
  • DataForSEO SERP API (Priority queue): 2026-10-31 pricing and help pages (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api and serpapi-alternatives fact-checks): the Priority queue costs $1.20/1K 10-result SERPs, with up to about 1 minute vendor-average turnaround; this is not a measured guarantee. $50 minimum payment, $1 trial credit and non-expiring funds; terms §7.2 indemnity is tied to §7.1 violations.
  • DataForSEO SERP API (Live): 2026-10-31 pricing and help pages (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api and serpapi-alternatives fact-checks): Live costs $2/1K 10-result SERPs, with up to about 6 seconds vendor-average turnaround; no latency test. Loading an AI Overview on Live costs an extra $0.002. $50 minimum payment, $1 trial credit and non-expiring funds; terms §7.2 indemnity is tied to §7.1 violations.
  • Traject Data SerpWow: 2026-10-31 pricing (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api fact-check): annual plans are Starter $125/month for 10K, BigData $399/50K, Volume $960/250K, Infrastructure $2,399/1M and InfrastructureXL $7,200/5M credits. The cheapest listed plan for 100K is Volume $960 ($11,520 upfront for the year); for 1M it is Infrastructure $2,399 ($28,788 a year), $2.399/1K rounded to $2.40. These are annual commitments, not month-to-month quotes. 16 Oct reading: overages of $0.024/$0.01996/$0.0096/$0.005998/$0.0036 per credit, respectively. A free trial is advertised without a verified allowance.
  • Searlo: 2026-11-03 pricing recheck: packs, one-year validity and the one-credit web-search rate unchanged; Full SERP (GET /serp) is 3 credits a page, and neither the pricing page nor the docs say how many organic results one web-search credit returns. At 3 credits per search the same packs would be about $0.67/1K at 100K and $0.60 at 1M. 2026-10-31 pricing (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api and serpapi-alternatives fact-checks): cards and FAQ now consistently give one-year validity per grant for new users; the 90-day competitor-table entry flagged on 16 Oct is gone. Packs are Micro $3.99/5K, Starter $9.99/20K, Builder $29.99/75K, Scale $74.99/250K, Pro $199.99/900K, Growth $399/1.8M and Enterprise $799/4M credits; web search costs one credit per successful call. Under the dataset's expiring-credit rule: 1K/month uses Micro, $3.99/5K = $0.80/1K; 100K/month uses Pro, $199.99/900K = $0.22/1K (lasts nine months); 1M/month uses Enterprise, $799/4M = $0.20/1K (lasts four months). Caveats: the page does not say how many results one web-search call returns, so these assume one call is one ~10-result page; actual account expiry is untested; the page warns it may adjust prices during November and December 2026, and from 1 Nov 2026 browser-completed AI Overview SERPs cost 8 credits instead of 3 and rendered scrape/crawl/extract pages 5 instead of 1 (ordinary web search unchanged).
  • scrape.do: 2026-10-31 pricing and Google Search Scraper page (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api and serpapi-alternatives fact-checks): every Google Search Scraper API call costs 10 credits, so Hobby ($29, 250K credits) covers 25,000 searches. Pro is $99 (1.25M credits), Business $249 (3.5M) and Advanced $699 (10M); Free is 1,000 credits/month. Rollover was not confirmed.
  • cloro: 2026-10-31 pricing and providers docs (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api and serpapi-alternatives fact-checks): Google costs a base of 3 credits async, with sync +2 and each extra page +2; async/batch AI Overview (incl. SERP) is 5 credits and AI Mode 4. This dataset's live/synchronous baseline therefore uses 5 credits. Lite $30/37.5K credits means an allocated $4/1K; at 100K searches, Starter $250/650K costs $2.50/1K; 1M uses Enterprise 2K at $2,000/5,871,025 credits = $2/1K; the $1,000 Business plan's 2.8M credits do not cover it. Hobby $100/250K, Growth $500/1.35M and Enterprise 3K–5K are also listed. Monthly credits do not roll over and expire at the end of the billing period. No API execution.
  • Scrape Creators: 2026-10-31 homepage and Google Search docs (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api fact-check): Freelance is $47/25K credits; Business $497/500K; Enterprise custom (1M+). Every plan card says 'Credits never expire'; 100 credits are initial, while up to 7K bonus credits require reward tasks. Google Search costs 1 credit/request: https://docs.scrapecreators.com/v1/google/search/ . The response sample shows five results and does not establish a 10-result contract, so normalized 10-result cells remain withheld. Entry $1.88/1K is per API call. No account/API or reward-task action.
  • ScraperAPI: 2026-10-31 prices and credit-cost docs (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api and serpapi-alternatives fact-checks): Google costs 25 credits/request; Hobby $49/100K covers 4K, Startup $149/1M covers 40K, and Business $299/3M covers 120K. Advanced $1,975/21.5M, shown with a '+500K bonus credits' limited-offer label, covers about 860K at 25 credits; the exact 1M total needs an unpublished overage/custom quote, so it is withheld. Monthly credits reset. The trial is 5K credits for 7 days, no card; the pricing FAQ separately mentions 1,000 free credits. No executed billing.
  • Apify Google Search Scraper: 2026-10-31 Actor pricing tab and platform pricing (also checked in the cheapest-serp-api fact-check): base scraped-SERP-page tariffs are Free $4.50/1K, Starter $2.50, Scale $1.95 and Business $1.80; paid plan commitments are $19/$199/$999 in monthly prepaid usage. Each run adds $0.00005; optional events cost more (16 Oct reading: optional AIO adds $3/$2/$1.50/$1.00 per 1K by plan; ads/full-page/AI-mode events extra). The $5 monthly free platform credit covers up to about 1,111 base pages at the Free tariff and does not roll over. Exact volume normalization is withheld without a run/add-on configuration; the $1.80 headline is Business, not universal PAYG. This is the Google Search Actor, not Website Content Crawler.
  • OpenAI web search tool: 2026-10-31 pricing (checked in the free-web-search-api fact-check): standard web search is $10 per 1K tool calls, with search content tokens billed at model rates on top. The web search preview for non-reasoning models is $25 per 1K calls with free content tokens. No general free search allowance is published. 16 Oct reading: inline citations must be clearly visible and clickable.
  • Anthropic web search tool: 2026-10-31 Claude API tool docs (checked in the free-web-search-api fact-check): $10/1K searches plus standard token costs for search-generated content; search errors are not billed, and citations are always enabled. No general free allowance is listed. 16 Oct reading: each search counts once regardless of results. Deployment/model support needs its own documentation check. No API execution.
  • Gemini API grounding with Google Search (Gemini 3.x): 2026-10-31 pricing (checked in the free-web-search-api fact-check): Gemini 3 and newer have no Free Tier grounding; the Paid Tier shares 5,000 search queries/month across applicable models, then bills $14/1K search queries plus model tokens, with a default cap of 1,500 requests a day. One prompt can trigger multiple search queries, so 5,000 queries is not 5,000 answers. Terms (effective 23 Mar 2026) require display of Search Suggestions and constrain collection/storage, with limited named exceptions, so this is not a blanket no-storage rule. Developer API channel only. No account usage was checked.
  • Gemini API grounding with Google Search (Gemini 2.5): 2026-10-31 pricing (checked in the free-web-search-api fact-check): the Gemini 2.5 Pro/Flash/Flash-Lite paid tier includes 1,500 grounded prompts/day, then $35/1K, plus model tokens; Flash/Flash-Lite share the paid allowance. Free Tier Flash/Flash-Lite share up to 500/day; Gemini 2.5 Pro has no Free Tier grounding; do not present 1,500/day as a universal free-tier offer. The billing unit is a grounded prompt rather than a Gemini 3+ individual search query. No API execution.
  • Google Agent Search (formerly Vertex AI Search): 2026-10-16 General Pricing: Standard costs $1.50/1K; Enterprise costs $4/1K and includes Website Search. Advanced Generative Answers adds $4/1K. These search an application's configured sites/data, not the whole web. Index storage has a 10GiB monthly free quota. A separate Configurable subscription model exists and is not represented by the Standard PAYG rate. The historical exact rename date is not reasserted. No account/invoice proof.
  • Firecrawl Search: 2026-10-31 pricing, search and billing docs (also checked in the firecrawl-vs-tavily, tavily-alternatives and free-web-search-api fact-checks): Search costs 2 credits per 10 results, rounded up in 10-result blocks; with scrapeOptions the standard scraping cost applies to each result, and JSON/Question/Highlight formats add 4 credits a page. Hobby at $19/month for 5K credits gives an allocated $7.60/1K basic 10-result searches ($16/month billed annually); Standard is $99/month for 100K, or $83/month billed annually ($990/year); Growth $399 (500K) and Scale $749 (1M). Free 1K credits renew monthly, no card. Keyless use is capped per IP each day without published numbers. Annual and monthly prices are distinct; no Search quality or API billing test.
  • Browserbase Search: 2026-10-31 pricing (also checked in the free-web-search-api and tavily-alternatives fact-checks): Free and Developer (and the listed Startup plan) include 1K Search calls/month; Developer costs $20/month, then the default provider, Parallel Advanced, is $5/1K. The provider grid lists Parallel Fast at $1/1K, Parallel Advanced at $5, Exa Fast at $7 and Exa Deep at $12. Search is limited to 2 requests a second per project. A universal $7/1K entry price is withdrawn: provider and subscription commitment must be specified. Current billing-plan docs still show a flat $7/1K Search overage: https://docs.browserbase.com/account/billing/plans . This conflicts with the provider-specific schedule; the actual account tariff remains unverified. No normalized total or account entitlement was verified.

How this data was collected

On October 31, 2026, 39 rows were re-confirmed against live official pricing pages and the same-day fact-checks of the posts that cite them (cheapest-serp-api, free-web-search-api, serpapi-alternatives, serper-vs-serpapi, tavily-alternatives, tavily-vs-exa, firecrawl-vs-tavily). Six rows that no post covers (Desearch, WebSearchAPI.ai, S1, Kagi, Google Custom Search JSON API, Google Agent Search) were not rechecked and keep their October 16 dates. Within a re-dated row, any detail marked '16 Oct reading' was not restated on October 31. Each row's Verified date records review of the retained claims in that row, including withdrawal or qualification of unsupported values. It does not mean a complete tariff, legal review, account entitlement, executed invoice or measured credit use. Prices are USD unless stated otherwise.

Per-1K figures are what 1,000 searches cost. Where a vendor states a plan price and the searches it includes, the figure is that price divided by the volume, rounded to the cent. Where a vendor bills in credits and I could not confirm how many credits one search uses, or quotes only a range, I left the figure out and put the vendor's own wording in the row note.

The three "Effective per 1K" columns cover Google SERP APIs only, for one Google results page (about 10 results), US desktop, live and parsed to JSON; queued products are labeled. Each is the month's cost at that volume divided by the volume in thousands. Subscriptions use the cheapest single plan (plus published overage) that covers the volume. Prepaid credits that never expire count at the pack or tier rate, and a bigger deposit counts only if it costs no more than 12 months of that volume at the entry rate. Prepaid credits that expire count as the pack price divided by the credits you can use before they expire. Free tiers count only if they renew monthly.

A blank cell means the vendor does not publish that value, or I could not verify it. I never estimate one. The top-tier column is filled only where the pricing page names the rate at its highest self-serve volume; enterprise quotes are out of scope.

apiserpent.com (SerpentAPI) Web-unit tier arithmetic is separate from paid Deep-search add-ons. Its row records the dated schedule and cash rule; do not apply base Web rates to every optional output. Bing Search APIs are excluded because Microsoft retired them on 2025-08-11.

The October 16 reconciliation covered all 45 rows; the October 31 pass covers the 39 rows named above, not the whole dataset. Unknown current prices, unverified account eligibility and non-comparable modes remain explicit; unsupported normalized values stay blank. Annual commitments and large prepaid payments are identified separately. Documentary checks do not establish real service connections.

October 31 changes: Searlo's normalized cells are restored because its whole pricing page now states one-year validity for new users; Bright Data at 1M is recomputed from the visible $499/380K Scale card plus $1.30/1K overage; HasData's price and normalized cells are withheld because only $49/$99/$208 plans under a 'Billed annually, 2 months free' toggle were visible; Exa's entry rate is now its Lite search type. apiserpent.com's pricing page carried the banner 'Prices to increase 10x after October 31' with no new rates.

November 3 changes: the apiserpent.com row was rechecked against its pricing page, docs, FAQ and terms. The 10x banner was gone; Default/Growth/Scale were unchanged, Enterprise moved from $0.03 to $0.05 per 1K after $1,000, and a new Enterprise Plus tier is $0.03 after a $1,250 single deposit, so the 1M cash figure is now $1,250. The effective date of that change was not stated. Searlo's pack prices were also confirmed unchanged; its page bills web search at one credit and Full SERP at three credits a page without saying how many results one web-search credit returns.
